The change in the examination schedule is being introduced after a tentative schedule put up by University of Mumbai (MU) showed that FYBSc students might end up giving more than one examination a day. “We are waiting for the department head’s final approval post . Only then can we announce the changes. As the university is shut this weekend, the announcement will be made only next week,” said an official from MU’s examination committee.
These examinations — that begin in the second week on November — will be rescheduled keeping in mind the various combinations of subjects that students have opted for. “Two papers from different subject combination sets were clashing. Some of us would have ended up with papers like Physics 1 and Chemistry 1 on the same day and at the same time,” said one student.
